Roger's Pals Appeal: Cut Your Losses!

Posted May 2, 08 11:00 AM CDT in Gossip Sports    Most Covered

(newser) – Friends and critics of Roger Clemens agree on one thing: He's well beyond "say it ain't so" and entering "stop the bleeding" territory. Those close to the rambling family man are urging him to drop his defamation lawsuit against Brian McNamee, and a legal expert compares him to a lemming, reports the New York Daily News.

"I don't see how he can continue this case," said one source close to the Rocket. "There's no way to damage his reputation any more." Chicago Sun-Times columnist Greg Couch disagrees, arguing that Clemens's arrogant refusal to ever step back has kept escalating the situation. "People are hurt. His name and career are finished. All to avoid saying he's sorry?" Couch marvels.
