Clintons Aim for Suburban Voters in NC

(Newser) – Urbanites in North Carolina prefer Barack Obama, while rural voters side with Hillary Clinton—which is why she spent all weekend trying to sway mixed regions like small cities and far-out suburbs. Obama, meanwhile, is counting on a hidden strength with country folk and his far-reaching publicity machine to win tomorrow's primary, the Charlotte Observer reports

For his part, Bill Clinton is carving a niche as "ambassador to small-town America,” and has given 20 North Carolina and Indiana counties their first presidential visit, the Washington Post reports.  "It doesn't get complicated in places like this," a Clinton organizer said. "They're flattered to see him. Everybody goes home happy."
