David Schwimmer Provides His Alibi

Police investigating a restaurant theft in England may have given him the benefit of the doubt, but that wasn't enough for David Schwimmer. Given his resemblance to the suspect, the Friends star apparently felt the need to provide his alibi on Twitter. "Officers, I swear it wasn't me. As you can see, I was in New York," he captioned a 6-second video posted Wednesday.

It shows him carrying a case of beer through a store, in imitation of the thief seen on CCTV footage. "To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation," Schwimmer added, tacking on #itwasntme. Not everyone is convinced by the video, viewed 5.6 million times. "Are you sure you weren't on a break?" quips one user. (See the image of the suspect here.)
