President Trump on Friday insisted that "total freedom of the press" is important to him, but he thinks reporters need to follow rules of "decorum" at press conferences. In response to a judge's decision to restore the press credentials of CNN's Jim Acosta, Trump said the White House is writing up "rules and regulations" for journalists. Asked to clarify, he said: “Decorum. You can’t take three questions and four questions. And just stand up and not sit down.” See the video here.

The White House revoked Acosta's credentials after he refused to hand over his microphone to an intern while peppering Trump with questions. "You have to act with respect," said Trump. If reporters “don’t listen to the rules and regulations, we will end up back in court and we will win," he added, per the AP. And failing that, the president suggested he would simply leave press conferences if he thought reporters were being disrespectful. (See controversial video of the Acosta incident.)
