Clinton: Staying In 'Until There's a Nominee'

Posted May 7, 08 2:46 PM CDT in Politics    Most Covered

(newser) – Hillary Clinton pledged today to fight on despite yesterday's disappointing primary results; she “refused … to withdraw,” the AP reports, despite tough questioning at a news conference. Clinton said she wasn’t going anywhere “until there’s a nominee,” even if it means waiting for Democratic National Committee bodies (the first meets May 30) to rule on outlaw Florida and Michigan delegates.

Clinton was set to meet with uncommitted superdelegates later this afternoon, even as four more moved to rival Barack Obama's column—prompting the AP to note that the race “appeared to be nearing its climax.” Said an Obama rep, “The delegate math gets exceptionally harder for Sen. Clinton every day.”
