Michelle Obama and Meghan Markle have a little bit in common. "Like me, Meghan probably never dreamt that she’d have a life like this," Obama says in a new interview with Good Housekeeping. Noting that such a life can lead to intense pressure from both outside sources and one's self, the former first lady offered her "biggest piece of advice" to the new Duchess of Sussex: "Take some time and don’t be in a hurry to do anything." She says that for her first few months in the White House, she focused on getting her daughters settled in Washington before doing anything more "ambitious." Obama adds, "There’s so much opportunity to do good with a platform," noting that "Meghan can maximize her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she’s doing something that resonates with her personally." More from the interview here. (Obama recently made headlines for this apparently unguarded moment.)
