Victorina Morales knows she stands a good chance of getting fired, or even deported, after speaking to the New York Times about her time as a housekeeper for President Trump's golf club in Bedminster, NJ. But the Guatemalan native says Trump's comments against Latin American immigrants, as well as alleged verbal and physical attacks from her own supervisor, have spurred her to speak about the situation at the club: She says it hires undocumented workers like herself and that managers facilitate the situation by assisting with fake identification documents. "We are tired of the abuse, the insults, the way he talks about us when he knows that we are here helping him make money," she says. Except the Times notes there's no evidence Trump is aware of her immigration status.

Morales, who has been tasked with cleaning Trump's residence at Bedminster, also talks about what it's like working for Trump personally, describing him as particular but kind and recalling big tips she has gotten. In one anecdote, Morales tells of Trump taking a rag from her to wipe a part of a window she couldn't reach. As of Thursday night, after the Times article, Morales hadn't heard anything from the club, though she wasn't planning on reporting to work Friday, she tells the Washington Post. She also says she's mulling a suit for discrimination and abuse. In a statement, a Trump Organization rep said: "We ... have very strict hiring practices. If any employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately." Read the full story here. (More President Trump stories.)
