A South Carolina mother "lost everything" Friday when three of her young children died in a car crash and a fourth was critically hurt, the Greenville News reports. "Those children were her strength. She lost everything," says Crystal Griffith, a co-worker of Jackie Brown at Taco Bell and KFC in Travelers Rest. "She's not taking it well. These children were this lady's life." A 27-year-old man was driving a van with the children when it went off Highway 253 at 12:28am and hit several trees, killing Arnez Yaron Jamison, Jr., 4, Robbiana Evans, 6, and Jamire Halley, 8, at the scene, Fox Carolina reports. Brown is at a hospital by her fourth child, who remained in critical condition Saturday. The driver, who didn't wear a seat belt, was also hospitalized.
Brown's co-workers have started a GoFundMe page for Brown as they reel from the news. "I can't even explain it. She is the strongest lady I have ever met. She came from the bottom. It was all about her kids," says Griffith. "Every week she was taking her kids to the mall to walk around. Every penny went to her children." Another co-worker, Brittney Elliott, says the team is "devastated and in disbelief" as they struggle to keep it together. Jim Dickson, who lives the near accident scene, says it's a treacherous, curvy road: "There are no street lights on the corner where you are coming out," he tells WSPA. "You just have to look down and at night look for headlights coming up over the hill." Police say charges are pending in the crash.
