Maybe She's Looking to Bargain

Posted May 9, 08 4:58 PM CDT in Politics    Editor's Choice

(newser) – Hillary Clinton’s tactics have been especially divisive in the last few days, and Katharine Q. Seelye writes in the Times that maybe she’s “veering into dangerous territory” to force her rival to bargain. Some suggestions on what she wants from him:

  • Pay off her $11 million campaign debt. A sticky issue because she owes most of it to strategist Mark Penn.
  • Seat Michigan and Florida’s delegates in full. This can’t give her the nomination, but it tightens the race and improves her legacy (and bargaining power).
  • Put her on the ticket, or at least offer. Obama-Clinton, anyone?
  • Help her leave in some other graceful way.
