Jays Squawk about A-Rod's Yawp

(Newser) – The Blue Jays were still upset a day after Yankees star Alex Rodriguez confused Jays third baseman Howie Clark by yelling at him while running the bases in the ninth inning. Clark was preparing to snag a fly ball, but then stepped aside, thinking the shortstop was calling the catch for himself. The play led to three Yankees runs.

The fly ball would have ended the inning. "It's a respect level . . . He was wrong for doing it," opined DH Frank Thomas. Toronto manager John Gibbons said there were "unwritten rules in the game and that's one of them." Said visiting manager Ozzie Guillen: "I thought it was funny."
