Bush Gushes Over Jenna's Nuptials

Posted May 11, 08 7:45 PM CDT in Arts & Living US

(Newser) – President Bush is flying back wistfully to Washington today after giving away the first daughter, the AP reports. “Our little girl, Jenna, married a really good guy,” the commander in chief told reporters. “The wedding was spectacular. It’s all we could have hoped for.” Click the Houston Chronicle link below to see photos of the sunset affair.

Bride and groom are diehard Republicans, but an Obama supporter officiated the wedding. At the reception, the president and first daughter danced to “You are so Beautiful,” while the newlyweds swayed to Taj Mahal’s “Lovin’ in My Baby’s Eyes.” One wedding specialist said the low-key affair could spark a trend for less stuffy, more personal first family weddings.
