Ariana Grande started a sweet back-and-forth with Jim Carrey of all people on Saturday, USA Today reports, when she posted an Instagram story showing a picture Carrey, alongside a quote of his on dealing with depression. "You should think of the word 'depressed' as 'deep rest,'" the quote read, in part. "Your body needs to be depressed. It needs deep rest from the character you've been trying to play." The 25-year-old singer also posted a pic of Carrey with the words "I love you so much" superimposed on top, as well as a note revealing that her first AIM handle when she was a kid was "jimcarreyfan42."

Carrey apparently got wind of Grande's online mini-tribute to him and responded in kind on Twitter on Easter Sunday. "I read your lovely mention of me and things I've said about depression," he wrote, attributing the quote Grande had cited to his friend Jeff Foster. "I admire your openness. I wish you freedom and peace. I feel blessed to have such a gifted admirer. Happy Easter!" Carrey also included a longer explainer on the "deep rest" concept from Foster himself, which advises, "Slow down today. Allow yourself to rest, deeply. And weep. And breathe. And begin again. Now." Grande's final word to Carrey, via Twitter: "i don't think u understand how much i adore u or what u mean to me. thank u for taking the time to share this w me. you are such an inspiration. i can't wait to tattoo this tweet to my forehead." (Grande has talked openly about her mental health struggles.)
