Win Can't Change Media's Mind

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton can crow all she wants about West Virginia, but the media won't hear. “This may be the first time in election history,” Roger Simon writes on Politico, “in which the press has withdrawn from a race before the candidate.” Barack Obama was off campaigning in Missouri—a state he already won—and the media agreed with him: The primaries are over.

The team assigned to the former first lady, Dana Milbank adds for the Washington Post, was stuck with an “ex-candidate"—not even filling one of the two shuttles the campaign sent to bring journalists to the victory party. Even Hillary couldn’t ignore her woes: When she ordered ice cream, aides sidled over to pay off her “dessert debt.”
