"Boobie" Makes Name for Himself

Posted Jun 4, 07 4:24 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – After a superhuman 48-point Game 5 against the Pistons, Cavaliers star Lebron James had a subdued Game 6; instead, it was baby-faced rookie Daniel Gibson who caught fire and hit five of five three-pointers in the fourth quarter to put the game away.  Gibson, 21, is nicknamed "Boobie."

The sobriquet comes from his mother, who used it to console him after older neighborhood children beat him up.  At Game 6, Cleveland women cheered his performance in t-shirts saying, "Detroit can't touch our Boobie."
