Assassination Plot Delays Tsvangirai Homecoming

Posted May 17, 08 9:59 AM CDT in World

(Newser) – Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai postponed his return home today after his party discovered an assassination plot against him, the Guardian reports. Citing a “credible source,” MDC said it’s unclear if the government is involved. Tsvangirai has been out of Zimbabwe for more than a month and was to return this weekend to begin campaigning for the country’s presidential runoff in June.
