Paris Checks In at Concrete Hilton

Posted Jun 4, 07 8:22 CDT in Arts & Living Gossip Crime & Courts US

(Newser) – Socialite Paris Hilton checked out a new set of bars late Sunday, at the LA County Jail. The celebutante debuted there in her three-week sentence for violating probation last month. Paris chose the venue herself, passing up ritzier pay prisons to deflect media rebukes. "I'm going to do the time, I'm going to do it the right way," the reality star affirmed.

Hilton was processed at the all-female Century Regional Facility hours after attending the MTV Movie Awards, where she appeared to be near tears when the crowd cheered a proposal that she head to jail early. She's expected to serve 23 days of a 45-day sentence in the prison's "special needs" ward, where she'll have privacy but (gasp) no BlackBerry.
