Rondo Dishes Out Another Celts Home Win

Posted May 21, 08 8:40 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Kevin Garnett may have notched the most points with 26, but it was Rajon Rondo who really hurt the Detroit Pistons in Boston's Game 1 win last night. The blossoming point guard logged more than 40 minutes on the court, finishing with 11 points, seven assists, and five steals to only one turnover, reports the Boston Herald.

And he made some surprising clutch jumpers, which Detroit coach Flip Saunders noticed. “You can’t give him too many dare shots," he said, calling the NBA sophomore "one of the most improved players in the league." Though Rondo's game has been somewhat inconsistent in these playoffs, one thing is clear: when he's hot, the Celtics win.
