Prof Copyrights Notes, Sues Web Cheats

(Newser) – A professor at the University of Florida who has regularly copyrighted his lectures is suing a service that offers online course notes to lazy students. Dr. Michael Moulton of the Wildlife Ecology and Conservation department says it's not about money, reports the Ars Technica blog. "It used to be that students had to find the answers themselves, the old-fashioned way," says Moulton.

Thomas Bean, who operates Class Notes, the company that offers notes to UF students, disputes the idea that his activities are illegal. Bean "politely made clear that in his considered opinion the publication activities of Class Notes have always been and are entirely legal," says the court complaint.
