Theme Park Jack Sparrow Recalls Arrrduous Gig

Disney actors face Kafkaesque maze of employment policies

(Newser) – Salacious proposals from drunken damsels and stalkers equipped with Disneyland annual passes dot the treacherous seas an actor playing Disneyland's Jack Sparrow must navigate. A pirate who had some issues with Disney's innumerable rules, including forbidding the swashbuckler to mention rum or grow the signature Johnny Depp goatee, spills to Los Angeles magazine.

Costumed Jack Sparrows are indoctrinated with Disney regulations, including the proper approach to wannabe wenches: “See women as trouble.” One rule forbids being visually linked to another Disney character; a MySpace pic of the actor kissing the park's Little Mermaid got Sparrow into hot water, and he was eventually forced to walk the plank.

(NEWSER) - An aspiring California "horrorcore" rapper who posted songs about killing on his MySpace page is being held as a suspect in the murder of four people, reports the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Richard Samuel Alden McCroskey III, 20, was arrested as he awaited a flight back home from Virginia, where the bodies were discovered in the home of a Farmville professor. The victims were believed to be the professor, her husband, their daughter, and a teenage friend. More»
