OJ Mayo, Agent Calvin Andrews Cut Ties

Relationship ends amid allegations of NCAA policy abuse

(Newser) – Former USC guard OJ Mayo has cut ties with agent Calvin Andrews. The decision comes less than two weeks after allegations he violated NCAA rules by accepting cash donations while in high school and college. "Due to the overwhelming intensity of recent allegations regarding the recruitment of OJ Mayo, we feel that our representation of him is a distraction," Andrews said in a statement.

NBA sources believe Mayo is considering Andy Miller and Leon Rose as replacements for Andrews, according to the Los Angels Times. If found guilty of the allegations against him, Andrews could face suspension or decertification that could cost him his privilege to negotiate with clubs on players' behalf. The investigation is expected to last several months.
