(NEWSER) - Portia de Rossi will soon be Portia DeGeneres. She filed the petition Friday, perhaps as a two-year anniversary present for wife Ellen, whom she married on August 16, 2008. The papers say “petitioner is taking the last name of her spouse,” TMZ reports, but People notes it won’t become official until a September 23 hearing.
