Bill Decries 'Cover-Up' By Dem Brass

Posted May 27, 08 2:14 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – Bill Clinton claimed this weekend that there is a conspiracy to bury polls showing Hillary to be the better Democratic general-election candidate against John McCain, adding, “I have never seen a candidate treated so disrespectfully just for running.” “Oh, this is so terrible," said the former president of conspirators' reaction to positive Hillary Clinton tidings, "we have to cover this up.”

He also said superdelegates are being unduly pressured to decide, CNN reports, and that anti-Clinton forces were “trying to get her to cry uncle before” Florida and Michigan problems are resolved. “She will win the general election if you nominate her,” he said. “They're just trying to make sure you don't.” He said a popular-vote victory would be powerful.
