Puerto Rico: Clinton's Vacation From Reality

Posted Jun 2, 08 12:54 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton enjoyed a final vacation from reality this weekend, Mike Madden writes in Salon. Her stay in Puerto Rico—including riding a float loaded with giant speakers blaring salsa and reggaeton—“couldn’t possibly have been the most efficient use of” time for a fighting candidate: rather, it was a final ego trip and staff getaway.

It was a “a wistful alternate reality, one in which she was cruising toward the presidency instead of facing a near-certain end to her campaign.” Even before she got to give what was likely her final victory speech of the interminable primary season, Clinton said the ignorance-is-bliss moment had been worth it: “It was the most fun I think I've ever had campaigning anywhere.”
