Vinyl Back for Another Spin

Posted Jun 2, 08 12:25 PM CDT in Business Arts & Living

(Newser) – It might seem unlikely in an age where the CD’s obituary has already been written, but vinyl records are making a comeback as younger fans fall for the big artwork and warm analog sounds, the Boston Globe reports. Music stores report big yearly sales increases, and big-box stores like Best Buy are stocking new-age turntables and their accessories.

"We're seeing this explosion of young people under 25 who never even saw an LP as a child running toward a format that was pronounced dead before they were even born,” one sales director says. “But if a title has any kind of mass appeal, it's coming out on vinyl today."
