Sect Parents Reuniting With Kids in Texas

Posted Jun 2, 08 6:48 PM CDT in Crime & Courts US

(Newser) – As polygamist parents reunited with their kids in Texas today, a sect elder said the church will no longer allow underage marriages. But Willie Jessop called the sect misunderstood and insisted that past unions have all been mutual. Meanwhile, tearful parents held their children outside Texas foster sites after a judge ruled their seizure unlawful, the AP reports.

"It's just great day," said sect mother Nancy Dockstader, who wept as she held her 9-year-old daughter, Amy. "We're so grateful."
