Rosie: View Producers Threatened to Sue Me

Posted Jun 4, 08 8:47 AM CDT in Arts & Living Gossip

(Newser) – Shoot-from-the-lip comedian Rosie O'Donnell had plenty to say about her acrimonious last days on The View when she called up Howard Stern to bury the hatchet with the shock jock, MSNBC reports. O'Donnell told Stern that producers threatened to sue when she told them she was leaving. But ABC insiders denied O'Donnell's take on events.

"Rosie had been rocking the boat for a while," said one. "There was less drama in having her go than keeping her." O'Donnell's radio chat veered from her career to celebrity friends, her love life, and her conspiracy theories about 9/11. O'Donnell could soon be filling more air time. O'Donnell said she's interesting in taking over the slot after Stern's show—and he obligingly offered her a tryout.
