R. Kelly Not Guilty on All Counts

(Newser) – Just over 6 years after he was originally indicted, singer R. Kelly was found not guilty today on all 14 child porn counts against him. The jury of three women and nine men deliberated for less than a day before acquitting the singer/songwriter after a 4-week trial, the Chicago Tribune reports. "This prosecution is one we have no reservations about," said the state's attorney.

The trial centered on a video that the prosecution maintained showed Kelly engaging in sex acts and urinating on his then-underage goddaughter. The alleged victim, now 23, did not testify but previously denied involvement. "Two things happened today. R. Kelly got his name back and [his goddaughter] never had to lose hers," said one of Kelly's lawyers.
