McCain Tackles the Serious Questions...
Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., walks off his charter campaign jet at the airport in Phoenix, Friday, June 20, 2008.    (Associated Press)

Who says McCain isn't hip? Turns out he listens to Usher and "laughs out loud" when he watches The Office, reveals Bob Sansevere in the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Eschewing  details like the candidate's veep choice, Sansevere asks the tough questions—like about his favorite comic strips (he liked Tarzan and Dick Tracy), pet peeves (turns out McCain can't stand being stranded on an airport tarmac, either), and whether he could beat Barack Obama in a bowl-off.

McCain covers his best day ("The day I was released from prison. I doubt there will ever be one quite like that.") to his channel-surfing fave ("A show I also liked, that I think went off, was "Damages." Glenn Close. Did you ever watch that? It was a fantastic show. Is it coming back? I thought it was a great show. She was fabulous in that show.")
