(Newser) – The call girl whose trysts with former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer triggered his resignation is speaking out for the first time, reports People. Ashley Dupré, 23, has written a message of thanks on her MySpace page to those who have left supportive comments—and responded to some not-so-kind zingers. She called her mood "thankful."

"Thank you all so much for taking the time to send me a bit of strength and inspiration," Dupré writes. "Your words have touched me, and I thank you for that with all my heart. I love you guys! Hard times don't last, only strong people."
