Campy Documentarians Focus on Fleiss

Posted Jun 25, 08 12:42 PM CDT in Arts & Living Glossies

(Newser) – The makers of such revelatory documentaries as Inside Deep Throat and The Eyes of Tammy Faye have a new film in the works, about Heidi Fleiss’ bid to open an all-male brothel in the Nevada desert, W reports. Fleiss, who had a falling out with directors Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato, said, “I was hoping it would be fun, but instead it was me getting mad.”

The filmmakers, who bankroll their documentary excursions by producing reality television, such as Tori Spelling’s show and Transamerican Love Story, still manage to tease out a sympathetic portrait of the former (and perhaps future) madam, who will soon join the cast of Celebrity Rehab. “Fame is the disease of the 21st century, and it’s peaking at a pandemic stage,” Bailey said.
