Clinton: 'We Stand Shoulder to Shoulder'

Posted Jun 27, 08 1:12 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama finally took a stage in support of the same candidate today—with Clinton asserting that it was time for the “36 million Americans who supported us” to stand in solidarity behind Obama, the Washington Post reports. "We are not going to rest until we take back our country," declared Clinton, adding, in a dig to the GOP reign, "think of the progress we have not made!”

The crowd in Unity, NH, casually alternated between cheers of “O-ba-ma” and “Hill-a-ry.” Obama said he couldn’t be “more honored, more moved” to receive his ex-rival’s support. “She rocks,” he said, adding that the American people need both Clintons’ “service and their wisdom of their vision.” Obama said all of the 214 votes cast in Unity during the state's primary—107 for each candidate—were “votes for change.”
