Spurs Win Fourth in Decade

Posted Jun 15, 07 5:18 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – The spurs won their fourth NBA title since 1999 with a sweep of the bumblingly outclassed Cavs—spurring talk of a San Antontio dynasty. In Cleveland for game four, the Spurs eeked out an 83-82 victory to clinch. Speedy Frenchman Tony Parker got the series MVP award, which teammate Tim Duncan had won three times.

Tony Parker cut into the paint seemingly at will against an otherwise stout Cleveland defense, finishing with 24 points on 10-for-14 shooting; Cavs superstar LeBron James, whose son had been born early that morning, had 25, shooting a pedestrian 10 for 30. Duncan pulled a perfunctory 12 points, but administered critical blocks and steals down the stretch.
