Nadal's Ready For Federer

Posted Jul 5, 08 5:23 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Those who dismiss Rafael Nadal's grass game forget that the 22-year-old has improved every year he's been on the scene, and his growth as a competitor is far from finished, writes Greg Garber for ESPN. "Give him time," says Nadal's uncle and coach. In Sunday's Wimbledon final against Roger Federer, his time may finally come.

John McEnroe notes that Nadal has "improved virtually every aspect of his game—his serve, court positioning, his backhand and his forehand." Combine his tricky left-handed serves with his stronger-than-ever arms and increasing serve speeds, and it's clear that Federer will not have an easy time extending his string of Wimbledon titles to six.
