Big sister prevailed at Wimbledon today. Defending champ Venus Williams beat Serena in straight sets, 7-5, 6-4, to claim her fifth Wimbledon title, the AP reports. It was the seventh Grand Slam match-up between the two, and Serena still holds a 5-2 edge. The two sisters will be back on the court later today, on the same side this time, as they go for the doubles title.

"I have to first of all say great match to Serena," said Venus, who trailed in the first set 3-1. "I can't believe that it's five, but when you're in the final against Serena Williams, five seems too far away from that first point. She played so awesome. It was really a task to beat her." Said Serena: "I'm so happy that at least one of us was able to win. She's played great this year." (More Wimbledon stories.)
