It may be summertime but things are still pretty frosty within one of the country's biggest organizations of Santa Clauses, the Wall Street Journal reports. Members of the Amalgamated Order of Real-Bearded Santas are accusing each other of profiteering and other naughty behavior. St. Nicks have been departing by the sleighful to sign up for splinter Santa groups.

Relations within the Amalgamated Santas quickly deteriorated after a strict Santa took charge last year and established a "Santa tribunal" that banned dozens of members from the Elf Net chat group. Breakaway Santas are expected to cause trouble at this year's convention, and the chief Santa revealed that he has received threats. He has instructed his children "to run" if they spot "anyone who looks like Santa." (More Santa Claus stories.)
