Iran Tests More Missiles as US Vows to Protect Allies, Interests

Posted Jul 10, 08 6:31 AM CDT in World

(Newser) – Iran claimed to have test fired more missiles today, a day after it launched nine missiles that pushed up oil prices and further stoked concerns that a regional conflict was brewing, reports Reuters. The "maneuver brings power to the Islamic Republic of Iran and is a lesson for enemies," said the Revolutionary Guards chief. Iran has said it will retaliate against Tel Aviv and US interests if attacked.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice responded that the US would defend its interests and those of its allies. "We take very, very strongly our obligation to help our allies defend themselves and no one should be confused about that.”
