Obama Campaign Insular, Arrogant, Hill Dems Complain

(Newser) – Some Congressional Democrats say they're not feeling the love from Barack Obama's campaign, Politico reports, with the candidate inattentive to broader election strategy and his camp uncommunicative on the day-to-day message blitz. "They think they know what’s right and everyone else is wrong on everything,” one senior staffer said “They are kind of insufferable at this point.”

An Obama spokesman dismissed the criticism: “It’s a favorite parlor game in Washington for low-level staff to take shots at anyone they can.” Still, Politico notes, Obama's situation is unusual. Having to fight Hillary Clinton into June sapped time to network with Congress, and his rejection of lobbyists limits access to former lawmakers and aides who could smooth communication with the Hill.
