Texas’s $6-million program to test high school athletes for steroids found two students out of 10,117 were using the drugs, the AP reports. Supporters called the testing, the country's largest, a deterrent, but critics see it as a waste of taxpayer money. About 45,000 students will be tested over two years. The two students caught were multi-sport athletes, but authorities did not say which sports they played.
