Fla. Actor Sues Rape Accuser

Arsenault alleges hundreds of thousands of dollars lost

(Newser) – An actor accused of drugging and raping a woman in his Florida home is now suing his accuser, saying the allegations cost him hundreds of thousands of dollars in business deals, the Saratota Herald-Tribune reports. Joseph S Arsenault says he was evicted from his home while in jail last year, and lost $700,000 in business contracts and $100,000 in bail.

Arsenault—who has appeared in movies like Orgazmo and Play it to the Bone—was arrested last year, but prosecutors dropped the charges in March. The actor admitted to doing cocaine with the woman, but insists the sex was consensual—and contrary to the woman’s allegations, tests didn’t detect any heroin in her system.

(NEWSER) - Oops. Burglars were so desperate for drugs when they broke into a Florida home that they snorted a powder found in a ceramic urn. But they didn't get even a hint of a buzz because they had inhaled some of the cremated remains of the former man of the house and two dogs, Reuters reports. "The suspects mistook the ashes for either cocaine or heroin," cops said of the 5 teens busted in the case. (NEWSER) - A woman has filed a lawsuit against former Dallas Cowboys player Michael Irvin, alleging rape. A Seminole Tribe spokesman said the alleged attack was reported then, but there was not enough evidence to bring charges, reports the New York Daily News . (NEWSER) - A bag containing 36 pounds of cocaine has been seized in the mailroom of the UN's Manhattan headquarters. There was no name or address on the bag sent from Mexico City through Cincinnati, but it was stamped with a poor copy of a UN logo, which set off a security alert, reports the BBC. The shipment may have been delivered there by accident, according to a UN spokesman, who said he believes it was the "work of narcotics traffickers who were trying to ship something into the US and their plan must have gone wrong."
