Sox Discussing Manny Trade

Boston may send Ramirez to Florida

(Newser) – Red Sox fans are used to "Manny being Manny," but could they accustom themselves to Manny being a Marlin? Talks about sending Manny Ramirez to Florida have turned serious, but many still doubt that any deal will be made by today's trade deadline, sources tell ESPN. Ramirez, for his part, seems ready to leave Boston.

"The Red Sox don't deserve a player like me," the right fielder said. "Their goal is to paint me as the bad guy." Teammate Mike Lowell thinks the trade rumors represent "a lot more smoke than fire," but it doesn't sound as if Ramirez is set on using his veto power to shoot down prospective deals.
