A Brooklyn man was sentenced to life in prison yesterday—and celebrated the occasion by chowing down on a buffet including fried chicken, pizza, and lasagna, the New York Post reports. One of the stranger plea deals on record saw Tremayne Durham plead guilty in Oregon to aggravated murder in exchange for two fast-food orgies—costing taxpayers thousands less than going to trial.

Durham admitted to shooting a man for refusing to refund his order for a custom-built $18,000 ice cream truck. “If a couple buckets of chicken are going to help to get a conviction, then get some biscuits to go with it,” a friend said of the victim. The 275-pound Durham was also married yesterday, to a woman on probation for witness tampering. (More crime stories.)
