Cheney Gets GOP Convention Slot After All

Posted Aug 8, 08 12:46 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – Vice President Dick Cheney will speak on the opening day of the Republican National Convention, Politico reports. Cheney, at odds in the past with presumptive nominee John McCain and unpopular with the public, will speak Sept. 1, prior to President Bush. “John McCain will always treat the Vice President with respect,” a rep said after rumors Cheney wouldn’t be invited.
