(Newser) – Explosions killed at least two people and injured several in western China Sunday, the AP reports. The blasts rocked the Muslim minority region of Xinjiang, home to the Uighurs, despite increased security after a similar attack left 16 dead this week. Gunfire reportedly followed the explosions, and police have cordoned off the area with the aid of federal troops.
