Wills & Kate Courting Again

(Newser) – Hold your breath. The second in line to the British throne, Prince William, and erstwhile girlfriend Kate Middleton are back together -- sort of. And while they are seeing each other again, Kate is said to be holding out for the promise of a ring before she gets serious again.

The pair attended a 'naughty' party at William's army barracks recently and Middleton will attend the Princess of Wales Memorial Concert at Wembley Stadium. Middleton has also stayed close to other family members during the break up, including royal sibling Harry and his girlfriend Chelsy.

(NEWSER) - Three months after the Royal Wedding, the Windsors are gathering for a royal wedding: Zara Phillips, Queen Elizabeth's oldest granddaughter, today will marry British rugby star Mike Tindall in a quiet ceremony in Edinburgh, reports the BBC . The ceremony marks the first royal wedding in Scotland since the second marriage of Phillips' mother, Princess Anne, in 1992. Annual Trooping the Colour ceremony salutes official birthday

(NEWSER) - Another British occasion, another display of crazy hats: London today rolled out the redcoats and bear-skin hats to fete Queen Elizabeth's 85th birthday—even though it's not her 85th birthday. The annual Trooping the Color ceremony, which dates from 1748, is held on a Saturday in June, when the weather is ostensibly better than the queen's real birthday, April 21. Catherine, the royal clan's newest duchess, nevertheless warded off the chill with a tartan blanket, notes the AP, whilst Prince William rode in the parade in the same Irish Guards uniform in which he married her. (NEWSER) - The handsome British calvary officer who had an affair with Princess Diana contemplated suicide when their five-year relationship became public, he revealed . "I got in my car to go to France—to shoot myself," James Hewitt told Inside Edition . But his mother insisted on accompanying him. If she hadn't "I would have probably shot myself. So I owe her my life." Hewitt said he "felt I had let people down—myself, my family, my friends, the nation, the army, my regiment." He collaborated on a book about their affair, Princess in Love.
