Catcher is out with his wife

Share

(Newser) – Red Sox catcher Jason Varitek has filed for divorce, the Boston Globe reports. Vartiek filed the papers on July 28 in Gwinnett County, Ga., where his family lives during the offseason. The captain and his wife have been married since 1997, and have three daughters ages 8, 6, and 3. The free-agent-to-be isn’t doing so hot at the plate either, batting just .216 on the year.
