Twin Algeria Bombings Kill 11

Second day of violence leaves dozens wounded in Bouira

(Newser) – Two car bombs killed 11 people and left 31 wounded in the Algerian city of Bouira, just a day after a suicide bombing in Algiers killed dozens more. Today's bombs targeted a hotel and a military command center, and one of the explosions occurred as a passenger bus drove past. No group has taken responsibility for any of the bombings, reports the New York Times, but in 2006 a long-term insurgent group swore allegiance to al-Qaeda.
