Obama-Kennedy '08 says it all

(Newser) – Word is that Barack Obama will pick Joe Biden, Evan Bayh, or Tim Kaine as his running mate, but Michael Moore isn't buying. He thinks it’s time for Caroline Kennedy to “pull a Cheney.” In an open letter on his website, Moore implores JFK’s daughter, who is currently running Obama’s VP search, to just pick herself. “Obama-Kennedy,” Moore muses. “Wow, does that sound so cool.”

Moore has reasons beyond how cool Obama-Kennedy sounds. Bayh and Biden both voted for the war, and Kaine is as unknown as Obama. But Caroline Kennedy is the ultimate known quantity—we’ve known her all her life—and she has much experience on the international stage. But she’s also a political outsider, a credible symbol of change, and a woman to reenergize Hillary voters. Plus, Obama-Kennedy. C’mon.

Biden. Bayh. Kaine. They're all decent fellows, but they are far from the core of what the Obama campaign has been about: Change. Real change. Out with the old. And don't invade countries that pose no threat to us.

This is the moment, Caroline. Seize it! And Barack, if you're reading this, you probably know that she is far too humble and decent to nominate herself. So step up and surprise us again.
