Hot Mic Catches Noonan on Palin: 'It's Over'

Posted Sep 3, 08 6:02 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – The hot microphone strikes again. Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan was caught today saying "It's over," as she assessed John McCain's chances in the wake of his Sarah Palin pick, Politico reports. Fellow righty Mike Murphy called the choice of Palin "gimmicky" and "cynical." The comments were picked up by a live mic after the two taped a segment today on NBC.

Asked off-air by NBC's Chuck Todd if Palin were the most qualified woman to pick, Noonan responded: "The most qualified? No. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bull---- about narratives. Every time Republicans do that, because that's not where they live and it's not what they're good at, and they blow it."
