Entourage Propels Wahlberg

Posted Sep 8, 08 10:47 AM CDT in Arts & Living

(Newser) – Mark Wahlberg continues to beef up his filmography, but behind the scenes the Entourage actor-producer is evolving into a major player. Through his TV production company, Leverage, he's a producer of the hit HBO show, and parlaying acting into producing was always the plan, the onetime Calvin Klein model tells the New York Times..

Wahlberg and his manager and partner Stephen Levinson—their relationship inspired Entourage’s Vince and best-friend/manager Eric—are riding high. “The plan was to not be involved in production until we felt like we had gotten to a good place in Mark’s acting career,” says Levinson Now HBO has committed to the serialized drama In Treatment for another season, and a reality series and high-profile period piece about the 1920s Atlantic City underworld are in the works.
