Charleston takes top rank for friendliness

(Newser) – Miami boasts the most attractive people in the US, a survey by Travel + Leisure magazine concludes. The city took the top spot for most beautiful locals, followed by San Diego, Austin, Charleston (SC), and Honolulu. Of the top 25, Philly came in last. The survey ranked the cities in a host of other categories, including:

  • Friendliest: Charleston
  • Smartest: Seattle
  • Most diverse: New York City (which also took the top spot for shopping, the arts, and best skyline).
  • Best weather: Honolulu
  • Cleanest: Portland, Ore.
  • Dirtiest: New Orleans
